Bargaining is scheduled to begin on Friday, July 5th.   This page will contain important bargaining information as it is released.

  • Bargaining Update: November 27,2019
    • Results of the voting are as follows: 139 members voted, 120 voting in favor of ratification and 19 voting against. This represents 86.3% of the total votes cast and thus the contract is ratified. The employer will ratify the tentative deal at the December 6 Board of Governors meeting.
  • Bargaining Update: November 25, 2019
    • This week CBUFA will be holding a ratification vote for the tentative deal reached in the recent round of bargaining. Thank you to our Negotiation team! Voting will be conducted using a combination of paper ballot and electronic voting.
    • Paper ballot can be done in the CBUFA office: Tuesday November 26 and Wednesday November 27 from 10-2.
    • Electronic votes will be done using simply voting and will take place Monday November 25- Wednesday November 27 at 2pm. An email with login information will be sent Monday afternoon.
  • Bargaining Update: November 20, 2019.
    • CBUFA and CBU have reached a tentative agreement. On November 14th, 2019 a tentative Collective Agreement was agreed to by both parties at the bargaining table.   The articles that were discussed and the changes to those articles are listed in the following document : https://www.cbufa.ca/cbu-cbufa-reach-tentative-agreement/
  • Bargaining Update: November 5, 2019
    • CBUFA has voted in support of a strike. Over 92% of the membership voted in the strike vote, 136 voted in favor of the motion, 14 voted against. This signifies overwhelming support of the CBUFA executive to call a strike, if necessary.
    • Conciliation is November 13 &14, the issues outstanding are wages and equitable teaching and research support. The Conciliator is Peter Lloyd, who has previous experience in CBUFA-employer negotiations.
  • Bargaining Update: August 21st, 2019
    • The CBUFA negotiation team met with the employer on August 19 and 20th.
    • Negotiations have reached an impasse with the employer.
    • A general membership meeting will be scheduled in September.
    • A full update on the current status of bargaining, future direction, and membership support will be discussed at Sept. meeting.
