Workshops in honour of Fair Employment Week 2018

The Association of Nova Scotia University Teachers (ANSUT) & CUPE 3912

will host two workshops in honour of Fair Employment Week 2018.

 

The first workshop, How Networking Can Help us “Make It Fair” will be held on

Tuesday, October 30, in Program Room 301, Halifax Central Library, from 6:30 – 8:30 pm.

The second workshop, Make It Fair:  Promoting Research Opportunities for Contract Academic Staff;

Friday, November 2 in the BMO Room at Halifax Central Library from 2:30 – 4:30 pm.

  • #CBUFAWelcomeWednesday Rebecca MacDougall is a Nursing Practice Educator in the School of Professional Studies #SPS @cbuniversity. Rebecca graduated from Cape Breton University in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in #Nursing (#BScN) degree with Advanced Major. She is currently enrolled at Athabasca University @athabascau #AthabascaU and working on a #MasterofNursing (MN) degree with a teaching focus. Her clinical nursing background includes emergency room nursing and long-term care nursing. Following graduation, Rebecca began working full-time as a staff nurse at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Emergency Department where she obtained my Emergency Nursing Program (ENP) certification through the Registered Nurses Professional Development Centre (RNPDC). She also had the opportunity to obtain several other certifications including Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), Canadian Triage and 
Acuity Scale (CTAS), Learning Essential Approaches to Palliative Care (LEAP) Core Course, and have taken part in a Preceptor Development Program. Her long-term care nursing experience includes working as a staff nurse at MacGillvray Guest Home. Rebecca most recently became certified to practice as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) and is currently working with the #EveryWomensCentre. Her nursing interests include emergency/critical care nursing, long-term care nursing, palliative care nursing, and forensic/sexual assault nursing. Rebecca began working with CBU as a Nursing Practice Educator in October 2018 and is very happy to be back at CBU where her nursing journey began. She is so excited to be able to share her love of nursing with her students.
