If you do not know what the Joint Occupational Health and Safety committee(JOHS) is I would not be surprised. The JOHS is a joint employee/employer committee mandated by law to be established in work places. In January of 2010 the Cape Breton Faculty Association(CBUFA) pulled its members from this committee. Carly is a two-time graduate of CBU with BA in Communication and an MBA in CED. A former Communication Lab Peer Facilitator, Carly joins the Department of Communication & Languages for this academic year as a Communication Lab Instructor in the areas of interpersonal communication, public communication, and media studies.   • #CBUFAWelcomeWednesday Lachlan MacKinnon is an Assistant Professor of #History in the School of Arts & Social Sciences #SASS @cbuniversity. A graduate of Cape Breton University (BA) and University of New Brunswick @discoverunb (MA), Dr. MacKinnon completed his PhD at Concordia University @concordiauniversity in 2016. His dissertation, which examined the #deindustrialization of Cape Breton Island, earned Concordia University's Governor General Academic Gold Medal. More recently, Dr. MacKinnon was a SSHRC-funded post-doctoral fellow with the Gorsebrook Research Institute at Saint Mary’s University @smuhalifax, where he studied the history of #capitalism. The author/editor of numerous scholarly publications, including the highly-acclaimed book The Deindustrialized World: Confronting Ruination in Postindustrial Places (UBC Press, 2017), MacKinnon brings to the Department
