Heritage projects can become community economic development projects.
Political Science professor Tom Urbaniak is working with community groups, the Old Sydney Society and the Whitney Pier Historical Society, to protect heritage sites. Tom pointed out that community revolving heritage funds have been used successfully in the United States to refurbish older homes in urban neighbourhoods suffering from neglect.

CBU has summer camp down to a science
About 30 youths are spending this week in Cape Breton University’s biology wing, learning about science and apparently enjoying every minute. They are taking part in a week-long science camp presented by CBU in co-operation with Actua, a national non-profit organization that aims to open the minds of youths to science and technology.
