Call for nominations
[2008 02 06] In accordance with the by-laws, the executive is sending a general call for nominations for the upcoming AGM. The nominating commitee (Avis Mysyk and Barry Moore) will accept nominations over the next 29 days. Please ensure that if you nominate someone (as opposed to allowing your name to stand), you also include confirmation that the person has accepted the nomination. Also, you are reminded that this process in no way precludes nominations from the floor at the AGM.
As a reminder, here is the list of offices and committees: President, Past President, Vice- President, Treasurer, Secretary, Publicity Officer, Equity Officer, Chief Negotiating Officer, Chief Grievance Officer, 3 members at large.
CBUFA committees: Equity Committee, Scholarship Committee, Grievance Committee, Publicity Committee.
Employer/employee Committees: OH&S (two CBUFA members); Part-time Committee (two CBUFA members), Employer/employee relations (2 members from CBUFA), Benefits Committee (one member), Pension Committee (one member).
The executive will be contacting schools to get nominations for the vacancies on PP&T. The nominations will be confirmed or voted on at the AGM (depending on the number of volunteers).
For those who already sit on the committees listed above (with the exception of PP&T which was dealt with separately) , please let Avis or Barry know if you wish to continue on the committee or in the office you now hold. Also, please send any nominations to a member of the committee, or you can send it to me and I will forward it.
